IgG4ward! EuroJAM: What to Expect and How to Plan Your Visit
A Closer Look at the IgG4ward! EuroJAM
The EuroJAM program reflects the real questions and decisions faced by people living with IgG4-RD, balancing foundational education, practical guidance, and shared experience.
Day One (May 22): Understanding the Disease & Treatment Landscape
Friday begins with sessions focused on the natural history and evolution of IgG4-RD, followed by discussion around definitions, diagnosis, and getting the diagnosis right—an issue many patients face for years.
Late-morning sessions explore treatment goals and therapeutic approaches, including steroids, steroid-sparing strategies, and B-cell–targeted therapies. These sessions are designed to help attendees better understand why treatment plans vary and how clinical decisions are made.
The afternoon features interactive breakout sessions, allowing participants to choose discussions most relevant to their own experiences. Example topics include:
Pancreatic disease
Retroperitoneal fibrosis
Kidney involvement
Orbital disease and vision
Neurological symptoms
Gastrointestinal issues
Lung involvement
Salivary gland disease
The day concludes with a session focused on multidisciplinary care, highlighting how specialists work together to support complex clinical decision-making.
That evening, attendees are invited to a hosted dinner and cocktail reception, offering time for relaxed conversation, connection, and community building.
Day Two (May 23): Research, Quality of Life & Living with IgG4-RD
Day Two looks toward the future of IgG4-RD care while also examining the lived experience of people affected by the disease.
Morning sessions focus on clinical research, patient registries, and clinical trials, including why participation matters and how research drives progress in rare disease care.
A patient voices panel follows, highlighting quality of life across Europe and emphasizing holistic care, peer support, and shared learning.
Additional breakout sessions address both organ-specific concerns and everyday challenges, including:
Hormonal and endocrine involvement
Liver and bile duct disease
Fatigue and brain fog
Dermatologic symptoms
Nutrition
Procedures
Self-care and self-advocacy
The EuroJAM concludes with an interactive question-and-answer panel, giving attendees the opportunity to ask questions directly and leave with greater clarity and understanding.
