The Road to Diagnosis – Lessons Learned

Welcome to the IgG4ward! PeachJAM Video Series

At IgG4ward!, we are bringing education, awareness and hope to everyone affected by IgG4-related disease (IgG4-RD)– patients, caregivers, families, physicians, researchers and advocates alike.

This fall, we are launching a new weekly video series from the IgG4ward! PeachJAM. The PeachJAM was hosted at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia on September 12th & 13th.

The event united people living with IgG4-RD, their loved ones, and leading experts from around the world to learn, connect, and work together to advance the field.

We are kicking off the series with a special combined video featuring both the Welcome Remarks and the opening Keynote talk: The Road to Diagnosis – Lessons Learned. Both of these presentations are by Dr. Arezou Khosroshahi, the host of the PeachJAM.

This first video sets the stage for the weeks ahead, highlighting the collaboration, compassion and scientific progress driving the IgG4-RD community 4ward.

Watch: Welcome to the PeachJAM & The Road to Diagnosis – Lessons Learned

Key insights from The Road to Diagnosis – Lessons Learned:
  • IgG4-RD has appeared in medical literature for more than a century but only recently gained recognition as a unique disease entity, with its own nomenclature.

  • Because IgG4-RD can affect nearly any organ, symptoms often vary widely – making collaboration among specialties essential.

  • Detailed patient histories, an understanding of the common IgG4-RD presentations, and persistence are all often critical to timely and accurate diagnosis.

  • Awareness, research and advocacy continue to move us all 4ward.
