IgG4ward! BayJAM: Hope in action
See Hope in Action at IgG4ward! BayJAM, where patients, caregivers, clinicians, researchers, and advocates gathered at Stanford University for education, connection, and community.
Patients, caregivers, clinicians, researchers, and advocates came together at Stanford University for IgG4ward! BayJAM, a full day dedicated to learning, conversation, and connection.
Hosted by Dr. Matthew Baker, BayJAM gave attendees the opportunity to hear directly from leading IgG4-RD experts, explore topics relevant to their individual experiences, ask questions, and connect with others who understand the journey.
For some attendees, it was their first opportunity to meet another person affected by IgG4-RD. These moments of connection are at the heart of every IgG4ward! JAM and reflect what Hope in Action looks like across our community.

From expert presentations and interactive breakout sessions to conversations shared throughout the day. BayJAM demonstrated the strength and spirit of the IgG4-RD community.
Highlights from the day
The program explored the evolving understanding and treatment of IgG4-RD, the role of B cells, organ involvement, imaging, diet and lifestyle, and ways patients and physicians can work together.
Organ-focused breakout sessions allowed attendees to select the topics most relevant to them, including lung, kidney, pancreatic, biliary, and retroperitoneal involvement. An extended Ask the Experts panel also gave community members the opportunity to bring their questions directly to leading specialists.
The day concluded with a presentation from Dr. John H. Stone on how clinicians and researchers think about IgG4-RD treatment today, followed by an evening reception where attendees could continue conversations and build new relationships.
The power of community
Education is an important part of every IgG4ward! JAM, but the impact extends far beyond the formal program.
Throughout BayJAM, community members exchanged experiences, formed new relationships, and discovered that they are not alone in navigating IgG4-RD. Clinicians and researchers also had the opportunity to hear directly from patients and caregivers about the realities of living with this rare disease.
By bringing these perspectives together, we strengthen understanding, build community, and help move the future of IgG4-RD forward.
Thank you
We extend our sincere gratitude to Dr. Matthew Baker, our speakers, volunteers, sponsors, and everyone who joined us at Stanford University.
