In Session 4 of the IgG4ward! EuroJAM Educational Series, Comfort Dawodu, Advanced Clinical Practitioner at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, presents Eye Manifestations of IgG4-Related Disease, followed by Dr. Claire Rice, Consultant Neurologist at North Bristol NHS Trust, who presents Neurological Manifestations of IgG4-Related Disease.
Throughout the session, Comfort Dawodu explains how IgG4-RD can affect the tissues around the eyes, discusses common symptoms, approaches to diagnosis, treatment options, and practical strategies for supporting eye health.
Dr. Claire Rice explores how IgG4-RD may affect the nervous system, including the brain, cranial nerves, spinal cord, and pituitary gland. She also reviews current approaches to diagnosis and treatment and highlights ongoing research in this evolving area.
From understanding which structures may be affected by IgG4-RD and recognizing potential symptoms to learning about diagnostic evaluation, treatment approaches, and future research, this session provides practical, patient-centered education designed to help individuals partner with their healthcare team.
